Natural Swimming Pool-Ponds

Originally designed in Europe, a natural swimming pool-pond is a constructed body of water in which the water is clarified and purified by filtration through planted botanical and biological filters.  The natural swimming pool-pond is entirely chemical-free, no chemicals or special devices are used, yet the pool-pond remains safe for swimming.

The construction of a pool-pond has been described as a personally responsible, sustainable consumer choice as its formation is not deleterious to and in fact enhances the natural surrounding ecology.  In addition, the biological water system is itself sustainable.  It remains diverse and productive over time, as circulation cycles redistribute nutrients and other elements through the living system.  The water is safe for swimming, will remain in good condition with minimal work, and is a beautiful natural delight to view.  Pool-ponds are certain to raise spirits.  An investment in a natural swimming pool-pond will contribute to quality of life and well-being and also support the local ecology.
